Ahh and Manny with his "faformer"
Gabriella.....you wouldn't know she had a 102 fever and barfed 10 mins later! ;)

Probably the worst Easter picture taken ever......

so why do I post it?

Humility is a virtue?......right?

It wasn't that we didn't try......

to coax spring temperatures here for Easter ( as technically it IS spring ;).
Mother Nature had other plans though, as we got about 5 inches of snow on Good Friday.
Ah well- what can you expect when Easter is in March here in MI?

Free at last!

If I would have had the presence of mind to bring a camera or video recorder to our outing at the park yesterday, that would have been the title of the pictoral review of the day. ;)
The boys didn't seem to know WHAT to choose first now that they were outside once again and they ran about hither and yon trying everything they could. There were many fallen branches laying about that made great swords, there were still great mountains of snow to climb, there were puddles to jump through and wide open spaces to run freely. I'm sure it was a great feeling to be outside the confines of house or school and experiencing the great outdoors once again for more than just a few minutes ( it was for me, too! :)

Feelin' groovy

Yesterday it went to 47 and it was SUNNY ( imagine that!).
It might have been just me, but I am sure I detected a *happy vibe* from most of the people around me while I was out and about....( and I was in many different places.....Target, Dollar Store, BD's ( Al took Tim and I to lunch....whadda guy!) the library and around the neighborhood for a walk/run with Naomi ( she ran, I walked ;).

It is kind of a nice feeling to share in group nirvana. Perhaps nirvana is not the right word since it was only 47 and not 74.....but you get the idea! ;) Hopefulness, expectation, relief......maybe those are the words that more aptly describe the *groove* everyone was in.

Am I the strangest mother on earth?

I had that feeling today while at Kroger buying Manny a plunger.
No, he doesn't want to be a plumber someday ( well.....maybe....he is only 3, so who knows? :)
He wants to be like his favorite cartoon character, Larry Boy.
Yes, a plunger is his most coveted possession today ( and probably for awhile).

Hmmmmmm.....

SIgns of Spring....

I suppose it says something about the climate you live in when 40 or 50 degrees feels balmy. ;)
Still, the *hint* of warmth those temperatures bring seem to give a glimpse of better weather days ahead. We had two such days in the last week, week and a half and it was hard to stay indoors.....
so we went out!

The first place we visited was our favorite local nature walk at Metro Beach. We were lucky enough to have our own personal nature fellow (aka a nice, middle age man out taking pictures) point out to us a herd of deer just a few yards away and the great horned owl sleeping in his/her nest. He also reminded me a lot of my dear old dad, currently living in Florida for the winter ( and we miss a lot...and dear meemaw, too), so it was quite a serendipity.

Today, the little boys and I went for a *puddle walk* ;). The rapidly melting snow due to the 50+ temps made puddles everywhere on our little jaunt out of doors and they were such fun to walk through and jump in.
Yes, the pants were soaked up to their thighs ( even with boots on), but we weren't out long enough for them to catch pneumonia ( hopefully ;)

Hope springs eternal that it won't be too much longer' til we are out in our shirtsleeves and flipflops ;)
