It is something to be able to paint a particular picture, or to carve a statue, and so to make a few objects beautiful; but it is far more glorious to carve and paint the very atmosphere and medium through which we look.....To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts. Free at last!
If I would have had the presence of mind to bring a camera or video recorder to our outing at the park yesterday, that would have been the title of the pictoral review of the day. ;)
The boys didn't seem to know WHAT to choose first now that they were outside once again and they ran about hither and yon trying everything they could. There were many fallen branches laying about that made great swords, there were still great mountains of snow to climb, there were puddles to jump through and wide open spaces to run freely. I'm sure it was a great feeling to be outside the confines of house or school and experiencing the great outdoors once again for more than just a few minutes ( it was for me, too! :)
